Credit cards

Hi we are heading out to malcesine next week for a week and are wondering about currency, planning on taking some euros but was hoping to use credit cards for most things, do most restaurants and bars accept them? Are there any other tips for our trip?

Hi, yes most restaurants accept credit cards, just make sure you are aware of any charges your bank might make for this service.

Hi, after the recent legislation all public activities should accept credit cards, but bring with you some cash for small purchase (coffee, ice cream etc.) and for tips ( in Italy you can not give tips with credit card)

Credit card acceptance in Italy is pretty widespread. For places like restaurants and bars, there is nothing to worry about.

Tipping is very very optional. Rounding up to the nearest Euro or two is enough, and even that is not compulsory.

Always have some cash with you though.
