Buongiorno a tutti,
The eternal question ... "What's the best way to get around the Campania region?". We are 2 couples who will be in this area (Laura, near Paestum) for 2 weeks in early September. Obviously, we would like to visit many of the interesting areas (Salerno, the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, etc ..and maybe Naple?). However, we get many different signals about how to get around this area. Some say even with the trouble (cost, traffic, parking, italian driver habits, etc ..) a car rental is still best because of the liberty it gives you. We want to find the best solution from a ratio of cost/commodity, if I am saving only a small amount of time with a rental vs public transports, than it's not worth it!
If public transport is best, what are they? Bus, train, taxi, ferryboat ... Saw the names of SITA (bus) and MetroMare (ferry) but do not have any other. Any tips to find out about the bus/train (or other) schedules and map of stations?
Grazie per qualsiasi aiuto (hope the translation is correct!).
