Casa Clementina

Hi - maybe a long shot, but booked a stay at Case Clementina in Positano through summerinitaly.com. It's a self-catering apartment. Just wondering if anyone has stayed there before and if so can recommend anything we might need to take that isn't there already - particualrly for the kitchen! Cheers

Hi, We stayed at Casa Clementina for 2 weeks last summer.

It had everythink we needed, however at that time we missed a spatula. So if you do some eggs it can be hard to move tham to the plate.

I published a review on this site:

Here are also our pictures with more picks of Casa Clementina.

If you have any questions don't hesitate. We had a very nice stay there.

Try WWW.amalfiaccommodation.com they have a shop/office right in the centre of Amalfi and have a great selection of properties from local owners

Hi PositanoGirl,

We stayed there in Oct 2005, and return this October.

Kitchen utensils are supplied, and there was nothing we felt was missing.

if you haven't thought of this already, since there is a washing machine in the bathroom, bring detergent, and some extra clothes-line pins to hang clothes out to dry. There are some on the balcony, but extras never hurt.

Have a great time!

The view from Casa Clementina's veranda is spectacular. Even as you stand in the shower you can't believe your eyes through the little window. Very clean and lots of utensils in the kitchen, which is great, because the best little grocery-wine-beer store and deli is about a two minute walk away. Someone else posted here that you need to bring your own detergent for the clothes washer, and you indeed do. Machine works well but not if you don't have any laundry soap! So either bring your own or buy from the store nearby. You'll need to top up the toilet roll supply provided too as that was a bit skimpy. But there were nice condiments in the kitchen cupboard such as olive oil and balsamic vinegar! A very nice touch.

The only complaint - and it is significant - is that Casa Clementina is situated directly above the Amalfi coast's equivalent to the Autostrade. This, in effect, means 24 hours of non-stop scooter noise and bus honking, complete with reverberations off the surrounding concrete walls. We actually checked out three days early because even though we loved the place and it is conveniently located high on the 'sea cliff' that is Positano, the noise kept us from catching up on our jet lag (journeyed from N.A.). We both used ear plugs - I mostly slept through the night, but my husband could not. Bring your plugs!!!
