Taxi from Naples to Positano

We will be in Naples for 1 afternoon in August and will be travelling on to Positano after.

We don't know what time we will be wanting to leave Naples so was wondering if getting a taxi is a good idea ? I've heard a private transfer would cost around 120E but don't want to be tied to a certain time.

Any advice is most welcome

Thanks

A taxi would be fine. They have a fixed fare to Positano of 120 euro. You must let the driver know you want the fixed fare BEFORE you get into the taxi. Some information is here.

I would use a private driver, we are paying €110 with DriveAmalfi (email info@driveamalfi.com) who we have used previously and I can highly recommend them.

We don't want to be tied to a certain time ,I'm sure we would have to do this with a private driver.

Then take a taxi - that allows you to not be tied to a specific time. OR, take the Circumvesuviana (local train) to Sorrento and the bus from there to Positano - or, the ferry from Sorrento if the schedule fits.
