Boat tours of Capri from Praino

My wife and I are gointo Praino in two weeks and want to know about boat tours of and around Capri? Is it expensive for such a tour? Is it possible to "share" cost with another couple?

The boat tours to Capri (in addition to the ferry that goes to Capri) leave from Positano, so you will have to get to Positano first. You will see various kiosks for different charters down at the dock, along with the kiosk where you would buy the ferry tickets.

You do have the option of hiring a private boat for a tour directly from Praiano - either a boat you drive yourself or with a driver. There is a kiosk for that from one company at least at the La Praia beach in Praiano and you could probably arrange some other company to deliver the boat there if you wanted. We saw several groups doing that when we were there.

You could also just take the ferry from Positano to Capri and then get on of the many boat tours from there that go around the island; there are a variety of options at different prices, most taking approximately 2 hours but you could book a private one (much pricier than one with other people) for a longer time if you want.

www.capri.net - has lots of info about the island.

If you take the boat tour from Positano, you will only get about 4 hours on the island; if you take the ferry over, you can get a longer bit of time on the island itself and just take the last ferry back to Positano.

Thank you. Does anyone have any suggestions of specific companies they have taken? Or drivers? I dont think we want to tackle driving it ourselves. A previous outing on a rental scooter on the Amalfi coast did not work out exactly as we had hoped.
