Ragusa or Marina di Ragusa

Trying to make mind up between Ragusa or Marina di Ragusa for a break early October. Would Marina di Ragusa be totally dead then? Any advise welcome. Thanks

Marina di Ragusa will have switched into winter mode by 20 Sept - but it all depends on the weather - if its still warm then the homeowners wont have shut up their houses by early October. The restaurants anyway stay open - Marina will still be realtovely busy at weekends and will be warmer than Ragusa which is 500m asl and therefore chillier in the evenings -

Thanks for the help. Just discovered that a busker festival is on in Ragusa over the weekend we had in mind. Sounds like fun, so we will probably opt for Ragusa even though accommodation is cheaper at Marina di Ragusa. Info much appreciated.

Go to Ragusa Ibla -- it is a beautiful, historical town rebuilt in the Sicilian baroque style after the 1693 earthquake. It is a spectacular site for a town and is lovely to wander around as it is largely pedestrianized. Marina di Ragusa is a pleasant seaside resort but, as you say, with be pretty dead after the summer.

Welcome to Sicily dublin m!

The beach season woud have been over, so without a doubt, stay in Ragusa in October. You could always visit Marina di Ragusa and the coast on a nice day.
