Family Skiing holiday

We are hoping to go to the dolomites skiing the week beginning 10th March. In total there will be 4 adults and one 3 year old. I would be really grateful for some advice on whether Santa Christina would be a good choice or another of the viullages in Val Gardena?

Any recomendations for hotels would be welcome at around the 100 euro per night HB rate, which appears to be at the cheaper end of the scale.

We are also keen to find out whether skiing lessons will be available for children at 3 years?

And whether there is a swimming pool in the area or any other entertainment for the little one.

We will have a car.

I look forward to your help

Thanks

Santa Christina is a fine base - not directly on the Sella Ronda, but close enough. It's smaller than Ortisei and quieter, but you might find some cheaper accomodation for that reason.

To get an idea of what's available, do a general search on the Val Gardena website (www.valgardena.it)

Ski schools usually offer some kind of ski kindergarten for 3 year olds, although it is still quite early to start them on skis. If the child is big then you should be ok, if it is small for its age they may have reservations about taking it. Talk directly to the ski school for their advice...

There is a public swimming pool in Ortisei

Thank you for your help.

Can you tell me if there are a couple of bars and restaurants in Santa Christina? We are not too bothered about partying the night away but would like to be able to go for a beer after the last run of the day

Also how far apart are the villages?

thanks

Hello,

yes, there are several bars and restaurants (and if you're feeling energetic one of the most lively après ski bars in the valley - the Heustadl!!)

The villages are about 5 minutes drive apart

It appears the skischool in Santa Cristina has a special course for kids up to 4years old but only for 9.5hrs over the whole week and only mornings

5 * 1h30

1 * 2hrs

santacristinaski.com/en/kurse_gruppenkurse_b…

Understandable really as the kids can get tired very quickly.

They also offer Kindergarten
