No , unfortunately they don't provide pool towels , but thanks to previous reviews we knew about this and took our own . As for rooms, overlooking the pool is probably best for views, but in terms of space the ones which are not, are much bigger !

Hey cath61Derby. I am staying at Hotel Alpha in July. Not sure if you've done a review but please let me know how you enjoyed your stay (or not). Which room did you stay - we booked the garden floor one with open patio. Also how did you feel staying in Sant' Agnello vs Sorrento? Did you go to amalfi or positano, or pompeii, or ischia??? Sorry for all the questions, but I love to read all about people's opinions beforehand (yes, addicted to this site :)

Thx

We have been twice before and are going again this July/August. and staying again at the Alpha.

Sant'Agnello is quieter than Sorrento itself but within easy travelling, 40 mins on foot or 5 mins on the train which run every 30min. the station is only 5mins walk from the Alpha.

Pompeii is very large and it took us two trips to see it all. Beware it can get very hot and there is no shade so take plenty of water and a hat. You can get a guide to take you round and sometimes it helps because you can get to see things you would not normally see on your own. But part of the adventure is exploring the ruins.

Positano and Amalfi are wonderful and easy to do either by boat or bus. We have done both and prefer the boat trip but then we are sea addicts.

As you will note from the reviews of the Aplha you can buy train and bus tickets at reception and the food is out of this world.

Enjoy your trip. You will love it.

hi we spoke to the hotel and they said they can provide pool towels at about 5 euros each, but you also pay when you change them, also we found out yesterday that it is trousers for men at dinner. no jeans in the restaurant. dont get me wrong we werent going to wear shorts just smart jeans, so thank god we checked , as it could have been embarassing.

It is only a request from the hotel and not strictly enforced. I wore smart jeans last year with no problems and some of the guests still wore shorts.

When you see the type of restaurant they have at the Alpha you will understand why they make the request, its a full table service, very high class with meals plated at your table with high quality ingredients by very proffessional waiters. The tables have good quality cuttlery and table cloths. This is deffinately not your run of the mill quick in and out dinning experience.

They understand that people are on holiday and don't or can't have a extensive wardrobe with them.

Enjoy.
