Train to Bolzano then bus.
Basically you need to get the No. 350 Bus
The service runs most frequent from Ponte Gardena/Waidbruck (towns in this region have an Italian and German name). Runs every 30mins. Journey takes 50mins. Tickets available on the bus or from Ponte Gardena train station.
The 350 also sometimes starts in Bolzano but a lot less frequent.
If you use http://www.sii.bz.it/en and enter in the search
Then "Search" at the bottom of the page it will ask you to select again (Venezia Mestre or Santa Lucia) - search again and it will give you a full result from Venice including train service.
If you just wish to have the No. 350 timetable on the start site above:
Select "Timetables as PDF"
On the right hand side "area" boxes tick the "Salto-Sciliar" and press "Search"
You will then get all the Bus schedules for the area. Scroll down and the 350 is at the bottom.
You can then choose what you want to do that best fits in with your timetable (e.g. Train to Ponte Gardena or Bolzano to pick up the bus)
Please note the following: www.trenitalia.com will only show you results for Italian trains. e.g from Venice to Ponte Gardena (or Bolzano) is mostly shown as a Eurostar service to Verona then a Regional train.
Germans/Austrians are responsible for ALL cross border Intercity trains to Austria. The Italians since 2 years stopped co-operating with the Germans/Austrians on ticketting/pricing. More recently they have even stopped showing the German/Austrian services on their website.
For your info there are 5 direct Intercity services daily from Verona to Munich. They stop at Bolzano and Ponte Gardena (although the Italians have tried to stop this as well)
You may find the Italian regional service is good enough. The German/Austrian service is just an option
