Hi,

We took the Mont Seuc cable car from Ortisei up to the gorgeous Seiser Alm/Alpe di Siusi. Actually, we liked it so much we did this twice. Paved paths with a beautiful Dolomite backdrop. The entire Seiser Alm is traffic free (no cars, etc.). At the top station of the cable car, there's a restaurant, which along with indoor seating, has a large outdoor deck with seating with the same Dolomite scenery. Just a beautiful area.

Here's a link to the lift/cable car schedule:

This is a link to hiking and walking trails with a map and an interactive map:

Here are some other cable car trips websites:

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, Pja60!

I was expecting an answer, and have received an encyclopedia. Can't wait to return to the beautiful Dolomites!

You're welcome! I know I covered this, but for easy walks in the Seiser Alm/Ape di Siusi, I recommend the Mont Seuc (Seiser Alm) cable car from Ortisei. Paved paths and not too strenuous at all.

Thank you again, Pja60!

Very helpful information and much appreciated. We were also considering the Mt Seuc cable.

PS Glad to see another Mittenwald aficionado from North America.

Sincerely,

Hello, another good area for walking with small children is the Vallunga in Selva. It's a gentle walk of about 1 hour up and down a valley, with big meadows at either end for a picnic etc
