Apartment advice Calvi ?

Hi all,

I am travelling to Corsica which my partner and 18 month old baby in June.

We have a hire car and want to stay somewhere in or around Calvi. Can anyone recommend a nice apartment or website ?

We would like to be close to a beach is possible.

Is Calvi the best place to stay with a young child ?

Thanks in advance

James

highly recommended apartments in Calvi are the "A merula" and "Le home", I've stayed in them and both are quite beautiful.

you'll find plenty of info on past t-adviser posts here.

Both have there own web sites. All apartments are located in lush gardens and are owned by the same family.

book direct with Christophe the owner, and fly easy jet.

save yourself a few hundred quid !

People speak highly of Le Home/A Merula - see the comments here

I think that's as good as you are likely to get in the area. Calvi is a great place for small children, the beach is perfect (ie very shallow) but don't stay in the Citadel - cobbled streets and steps make it very unsuitable for buggies.

Or if you want to be really really close to the beach you could try camping - or they have chalets/mobile homes - at La Pinede. Comments here tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g196482-d1152…

I have stayed at both Le Home and A Merula. Both are good but A Merula has the edge. Reasonably priced and immaculately maintained. They are very quiet so please don't go if you like to make a lot of noise.

stayed in le home and a merula many times - my advice if you have a toddler is to ask for a ground floor appartment but not in the middle block which used to be known as the Tahiti as they have steps leading up to the ground floor rooms which might make you a little nervous during your stay!

Merula definitely has the edge but I would happily stay in any of the blocks just for the location and convenience. Back in the day they provided us with a cot and high chair too so make sure to ask for those.
