Is Calvi really worth a long day trip?

We'll be staying in South, Central & Northeast Corsica, therefore it'd be a minimum of 2 hour one way drive to Calvi [with 2 children]. We would've seen so many lovely places already like Bonifacio, Corte, Sartene, Bastia & Saint Florent, plus some villages. We like to wonder around old towns and are not really interested in trendy bars or clubs etc. Is Calvi, with its citadelle, worth the effort or would we already have seen more beautiful places. What's the rest of the old town like? Many thanks. Barry

Barry - nothing is Corsica is worth more than 2 hours drive...for the very simple reasons that you will find 100 different amazing places within 2 hours!...so dont worry going to Calvi if you are not close (dont get me wrong, Calvi is still amazing, but no more that the other destinations that you have mentioned), plus that will be a good reason for you to come back to Corsica!
