anyone been to millau bridge?

looking to go and ive heard people talk about an observation deck bellow the bridge.. is this something i should get routes/enter into sat nav or will it be quite obvious where it is? thankyou x

It is quite obvious where it is. As you approach the viaduct on the A75 motorway coming from the north, you will see an exit on your right just before the viaduct. It takes you down to the viewing area.

In addition to the viewpoint mentioned above, there's a visitor's center right underneath the span as you are leaving Millau on the D992 heading south (towards St. Georges) to get back on the A75. Both stops are worth the time.

The visitor centre explains the conception, design, and engineering feat of the bridge.

The viewing area gives a longtitudinal view of the bridge span.

The best view of the scale of the achievement, all the supporting columns, and the width of the span is from Millau itself. Turn off the autoroute for the town and head for the N9 as it climbs north out of the town. The most impressive photos can be taken from here.
