My students and I will be taking the Ferry from Dover on a Wed night in June to Calais for just the evening. There are 13 of us altogether--17 and 18 year olds plus two chaperones. I have read all through this forum and hate to post on what is certainly a common thread, but I cannot find exactly the answer I need. This is a very well-behaved, great group of kids.
We are looking for a French restaurant, inexpensive to moderate, that can accommodate us. None of us speak French beyond what I learned in high school too many years ago to mention. Outdoors would be great assuming nice weather, and must be within walking distance of the ferry unless picking up a bus is easy, inexpensive and very regular pick-up to get back to ferry later that evening. For several of the students "eating in France" is one of the things they are looking foward to most.
We do not need to sit at one table--spread out is fine. I have read "many restaurants on Rue Royale and Place d'Armes--are these walking distance and could I get some spsecific recommendations?
You are much appreciated!
