Town/Village near Calais via Train

We are thinking of taking Dover-Calais ferry with the intent of spend a night of two in France. Would like to get a away from the ferry crowds, but won't have a car, so are looking for recommendations of towns/villages that would have nice scenery for walking around in, good drink and food, reasonably priced hotels. Coastal would be nice but not a requirement. Key is that we can get there in <1hr.

Will stay in Calais if there isn't anywhere worth while.

The old part of Boulogne-sur-Mer or Wimereux are worth considering. Not sure of the transport to Wimereux, but it's easy to get to Boulogne by train.

I've gone to both St Omer and Boulogne by train from Calais... Boulogne is coastal, I love the old town and rather like the aquarium, Nausicca there. I stayed in the hotel Alexandra when I last stayed in Boulogne. Have eaten in Boulogne more than once too. Never been disappointed there yet anyway.

St Omer was rather nice too, but not eaten there or stayed there, just visited a couple of times.
