Chair lift

Anyone done this in Boppard?? Worth travelling there to do?? We are staying in Bacharach, but interested in exploring around.

Also--anyone know where to find more info about this online?? I have found mentions of it, and a phone number to call, but no actual info about where it is, the cost, hours, etc.

When we were young my father told us that the chair lifts in this area are only for the Dutch and retired people. Of course we had to walk. And on the retired people he was also not telling us the truth. He is retired since long and made the Rheinsteig last year with friends.

I actually hiked up to the lookout myself by choice about 8 years ago - it was a nice day. The lookout provides you with an excellent view - from one spot the river looks like four lakes, hence its name Vierseenblick (four-lakes-view, literally translated.) Nice outdoor cafe up there.

How long would you allow for a ride up, look around, ride down?

The Sesselbahn website says it's a 40-minute trip. Each way?

We did do the chairlift--it is very easy to find. Look for signs saying "Sesselbahn", and it takes you right there.
