parking in vevey

We are planning to stay at the grand hotel du lac. Any suggestions for breakfast and car parking in the vicinity?

You can find some free street parking around the Hotel:

Avenue des Pléiades and Avenue de la Prairie have free parking spaces. The road along the lake (quai Perdonnet) has metered parking space only.

Parking in Vevey is a nightmare. Any space that is not limited will be full (if a space is marked with blue lines you can only stay there for 90mins except at night and on Sundays... Spaces that are marked in red are for longer term parking - up to 8 and sometimes 14 hrs. So the best is either to ask the Hotel to park the car, which they can do or to use the" Panorama" parking garage is about half way from the centre of town and the Hôtel du Lac. It has metered parking (you get a ticket when you enter and pay when you leave.) When you come into Vevey from the autoroute and have come all the way down the hill and are on the main route cantonale you will see a sign board indicating the parking spaces available in each of the town's public garages. To get to the Panorama you turn left shortly after you get onto the rte Cantonale... near the Fire Station.
