Freezer Hire

Hi

We are coming to Adelboden bringing with some of our own food. In the apartments we are renting there very limited space in the freezers. I heard that in the city center you can rent freezer space, but I can find the place. hope someone here will be able to help.

Thanks

I don't know the answer, but be aware that it is forbidden to bring meat (which I presume is the reason for the freezer) from the UK to Switzerland. You are unlikely to be searched (they don't have sniffer-beagles at customs like in the US). But you should be aware. If you need specialised meat, it may be better to source it locally - which we may be able to advise on how.

Jt, From were do you have your info? I searchd online and all I find is, if you bring food for personal consumption from the EU there no problem.

The amount of meat and dairy products you can bring into Switzerland is limited limited though - i think about 1 kg meat per person or similar amounts. Not enough to see you through the entire holiday.

You are right that there is a personal consumption exemption. I apologise - I wasn't aware of that. I just wouldn't want to have a suitcase full of meat at Geneva airport and be discussing the definition.
