Best 'headquarters' for a wine weekend?

Trying to decide between Walla Wall, Pasco, and Yakima for our lodging. It'll be me and my girlfriend for a 3 days weekend. Just looking to get away, enjoy some good wine & food, and relax for a couple days. We like strong reds, but since we're going in July would probably enjoy some good chardonnay's and sauvignon blancs as well. Would like to not have to drive to far to visit the wineries. Also want to make sure there is decent food & possibly entertainment in town after coming back from the wine tours. Which area would be best?

Walla Walla, hands down. The town is beautiful, as are the surrounding wineries. Some of the best wine in the state is made there. Saffron is a superb restaurant.

Agree, Walla Walla has the best ambience and the best choice of good accommodations and restaurants.

Although it is the farthest, Walla Walla is a better choice than the other two. There are better restaurants, good lodging, and the town has been able to maintain a nice downtown area. USA Today chose it as one of the five best small towns in America and it was deemed the friendliest.

If you stay at the Marcus Whitman you can walk to many tasting rooms in the small downtown area.
