Budget but Safe Rental for 4 Nights

First time in Vieques and looking for a budget rental for 4 nights (hotel, vacation rental, B&B, don't care). My husband and I are simple people and are only looking for a clean and safe place to sleep. Being picked up and dropped off at the ferry would be the only "accommodation" we would love to have. We plan to maybe rent a moped or a car for a day or 2, but will mostly be on the beach and just relaxing. Any input on Casa Alta Vista rental? Any suggestions or input would be awesome!

Thanks in advance!

Paula,

Budget can mean a lot of different things to different people. Also when you go can make a difference on price and on whether you need air conditioning or not. So based on that I'm gonna "shoot from the hip", so to speak:

You might check out Hilltop apartment in Los Chivos. I've stayed there a couple times. $80 a day, three night min. It has killer views, but your not walking to town from it or to any beaches, you'll need a vehicle. Owner lives below, although you will never hear or see him. Barry is his name, great guy.

Here's some video I shot the first time we stayed at the place:

…blogspot.com/search/label/rental%20house

and here's a link to the flipkey listing for the house:

flipkey.com/vieques-vacation-rentals/p317494/

hope this helps some, might not be exactly what your looking for. My wife and I have been going to Vieques for a number of years and have stayed at a lot of different houses and locations.

I made a mistake on that last post. The Hilltop is $90 a night now instead of $80.

Look up Oreanda Guest House and I really do think you will want a car rental based on our stay

Paula, I have stayed in Alta Vista a couple of times, but, it has been a few years. The first time was with my wife and the second time; with my three kids and mother in law. I wouldn't take them if I didn't feel it was safe for them. Check out the reviews on Alta Vista here (one is mine). Get a rental jeep or car. Enjoy your stay.
