Kapalua walking Trails

Looking for some nice walking and exploring areas and came across these. Are these free trails? Found information on Kapula Adventures website, and they appear to be free access, but at times it almost seems as they are not. Just want to check. Are these worth spending time on? Especially the Coastal Trail.

Also, I have become aware that there is now a sign asking you not to go out to Dragon's Teeth, but many have started there is another tail in the area, is this coastal trail it? If not, where is that one and how do you get access?

Thanks!

The Kapalua Hiking Trails are most defrinitely worth your time. Here is a link for the Kapalua trails where you can download some pdf maps of the trails...

Even though the Dragon's Teeth area is now restricted, you can see much of the same sort of terrain along the Coastal Trail which takes you out on to the south point of Oneloa Beach. You can access that trail from several locations. Our favorite are the trails that are up on the old Village golf course that was abandoned a number of years back. The trails take advantage of the old cart paths and at the top you are rewarded with a beautiful little lake with terrific views out towards Molokai and Lanai (take some bread crumbs to feed the ducks)

Check in at the Kapalua Adventure Center off Office Drive and the folks there are full of information about the hiking trails.

MauiBoundMiller,

The trails are free. The coastal trail you can get too from the Kapalua bay and just keep following the path. For the other trails, you go to the Kapalua Adventure Center and sign a waiver. The Village Trail follows the old Village Golf Course (now abandoned and overgrown) and climbs up quite a ways to a cute little duck filled lake, with some really nice views along the way. The others trails require a shuttle ride from the Kapalua Adventure Center to to trailhead.

The Coastal Trail goes out on another point, similar to Dragon's Teeth, with similarly striking views. Not quite as nice, but definitely worth checking out. Have fun!

You're kidding ~ the whole trail is only 1.76 miles ONE WAY??? It looks much longer on the map, but the legend says 1.76 miles one way??? That's a nice sunset walk.

Very disappointed to hear about Dragon's teeth being restricted. My kids were so looking forward to that when we are there over Xmas. Does anyone know why? Can you get close enough for pics at least?
