The Rod and Line about a mile west on the A38 is a lovely old pub doing excellent sea food as well as more routine but hearty pub food. The Notter Bridge Inn is a bit idiosyncratic and has undergone a revamp. People seem to like it or loath it. There are good beaches within half an hour or less.

Just had a week staying here. Well equipped cottages. We've been out somewhere different everyday and nowhere more than half an hour drive. Various beaches and fishing villages, plus Plymouth. Didn't like the Notter Bridge pub, but ate several times at China Fleet Country Club. Supermarket 5 mins away.

Would recommend this location.
