Is the beach in front of the Calabash hotel open to the public and can you rent chairs there if you are not staying at the hotel?
All beaches in Grenada are public. There are no vendors renting lounge chairs at this beach. I am not sure if the Calabash will let you use their loungers if you patronize their beach restaurant/bar. You can try and ask them at the restaurant. If there are not many guests and there are empty loungers, they may not mind. But ask, don't assume.
We spent an afternoon on the beach but didnt use their loungers.... That's a bit presumptions to me. Suppose u could try and see what happens
As pigsters says, legally between low and high tide is public land. Practically whole beaches are public and youbcan roam at will. Of course hotels can own and rent the beds on them. Often if you use their paying facilities, you can use their beds, but do ask... Some hotels have arrangements with others, eg if youvstay in blue horizons behind grand anse, you are allowed to use the beach facilities of the spice island on the beach?
All hotels do breakfast, the better the hotel, the better the breakfast generally. I think deynas in st georges does breakfast, and le papillon cafe on grand anse does a nice local organic breakfast. Mt moritz does a big outdoor breakfast on the last sunday of each month.
Theres also the coffee and bagels place on grand anse, pretty good coffee.
