Driving Ring of Kerry for the first time

We are planning a drive around the Ring of Kerry for the first time (never been to Ireland). Hoping to start early AM, around 8 or so. Any advice, other than driving anti-clockwise? Will I be encountering a lot of buses? About how far around it and how long should we expect?

I should have mentioned that we were looking at late March.

Late March, the days will be getting longer so you will have more daylight. The clocks go forward on the 29th March. Easter Sunday is the 5th April.

At time of the year, there will not be a lot of busses so you will be fine in that regard. I can't remember when Skelligs Chocolate Factory reopen after their winter closure but you can check before you leave.
