Self catering cottages Clare

Hoping to find a self catering cottage that is not isolated and in walking distance to town The wish list includes a BBQ private back yard and satelite Tv and an area were cell phone work quickly also close to Shannon Airport and possiblely a land line phone A fireplace is also a must I stayed at a self catering place in Durrus 2 years ago and the TV and cell pphone rarely worded due to the surrounding mountains I am looking to spend maybe 3 weeks and looking to visit places like Mitchelstown Donneraile Askeaton as well as Killarney Park Cliffs of Moher and old ruins any suggestions? I hope to spend around 1000 a week Canadian thanks Heather

With 3 weeks and a wide spanning wish list would suggest that you need more than one location perhaps consider 2 locations for a week at a time and a weeks touring or one location with a week touring. No problems finding accommodation within your price range and the two companies we usually use to find accommodation are;

I would suggest you avoid renting with "Rent an Irish Cottage"

I think it is a good idea to rent more than one place for the 3 weeks time I went onto some of the sites and some are already booked Can I wait till January or do you think the good places will already be booked? Thanks again Heather

Popular places do tend to get booked year on year but many will not be quoted for next year until the new year so check in Jan for 2012 dates and prices.

The rent an Irish cottage's in Ballyvaughan are in an ideal location but the quality and cleanliness would appear hit and miss not only from reviews on here but neighbours who have used them 3 times before but never again.

Hi heather,if you're planning on spending three weeks ,I would suggest choosing two locations from which you could base yourself and tour from.there.im a frequent visitor to north Clare and adore it.ballyvaughan is a beautiful tranquil town,I'd highly recommend.nearby you also have kinvara,lisdoonvarna,cliffs of moher etc. I recommend knocknagrough house,stayed there before,WWW.burrenrentalhome.com,modern,spacious & lady owner is lovely.check out the goireland website also.best of luck!
