Anyone get married in the Cavan Crystal Hotel or been to a wedding there would you recommend it?
Located close to Cavan town beside the busy N3, the Cavan Crystal is quite a nice hotel for meetings etc, but not one that most local people normally associate with weddings.
Friends of ours on New Years Eve had their reception at the Errigal Country House Hotel and said that it was excellent: www.errigalhotel.com
food etc is good, but it is located at the side of the busy road with the only view being that onto the car-park.Fine for say a party, but for a wedding,I'd prefer to have some grounds outside or at least a good garden for photos.I'm not sure if it is in NAMA now, used to be owned by the Quinn group.
Sorry Harvey, I am afraid that you are mistaken Cavan Crystal or the hotel were never part of the Quinn empire. The only Cavan hotel which Sean Quinn built and owned until late was the Sleive Russell near Ballyconnell.Edited: 03 January 2012, 22:19
I heard it was very good for weddings, even though it is located off the road opposite a busy industrial estate. Apparently the food is excellent and the service is great and the decor is lovely which is all importnat for any wedding.
Sorry Cavan ,when we stayed there a local told us it and the Kilmore were Quinn properties.
There is a small retail park across the road from the Cavan Crystal hotel. I don't go to hotels to look at the decor.
Harvey.....It is around twenty years ago since Sean Quinn had anything to do with the Kilmore hotel, but what does that have to do with the OP question?Edited: 02 February 2012, 00:26
Too modern for my taste. Have you thought about the Park.
Good suggestion, and while the Park Hotel is ideal for small party occasions it would add a lot of extra miles from Fermanagh. I am sure that there are several excellent facilities nearer to home. If it is to be a small gatheing then you might find the Old Post Inn @ Cloverhill is unbeatable as far as food in concerned. Otherwise try somewhere like the Errigal Hotel near Cootehill which specialises in wedding arrangements.
IrishLad, If my memory serves it is around two years since you first mentioned getting married in Cavan, you have had plenty of time to chose a suitable location!!Edited: 02 February 2012, 20:22
Hi went to a wedding in this hotel it was fantastic, the staff were amazing and so organised. The food was brilliant as well.
