River and falls in Ennistimon

I do have the spelling right. I know Ennistymon is nearby. Maybe somebody in the area can tell me the

name of the falls and river that is right near main street and the river flows under the stone bridge in Ennistimon. Very picturesque.

Ennistymon is the correct spelling of the town and not Ennistimon. You will see Ennistimon on signs and maps.I think it has something to do with name changes during the 90's. Some bright spark in the government thought towns would be easier to pronounce!!!

Some towns people around the country kicked up a stink and rightly so as Irish place names were completely changed.

Another common error is the spelling of Kinvara in County Galway.

It was changed to Kinvarra on maps and some road signs on the N18/N67

Kinvara is the correct spelling and this is the spelling you will see entering the town.

Yhe River flowing through Ennistymon is the Cullenagh River and the falls is just that known as "The Falls".
