I found this web-site when I was looking for self-catering in Donegal this year, but we didn't book through them in the end:

www.donegalcottageholidays.com/index.php

as we found a property we liked with Shamrock Cottages. I've just looked at Shamrock and they don't have anything in the Dunfanaghy area.

We stayed near Bunbeg, but drove up to Dunfanaghy one day: absolutely gorgeous, and much prettier than Bunbeg!

Don't forget the new rentals section on Tripadvisor with reviews and everything. Some nice properties in County Donegal.

Hi,

I always use the online classified section of the Times, called Home Away. It's got lots of listings for Donegal. web address is www.holiday-rentals.co.uk

Hope this helps

I really didn't expect such a terrific response as the Dunfanaghy forum only had a handful of previous posts! Thank you everybody.

Now, perhaps somebody can answer another question. Is there any reason why the last two weeks of August might not be popular in Dunfanaghy. The reason I ask is that one owner is offering 20% discount for those two weeks, which are in school holidays, so that makes me wonder why.

the Irish Bank Holiday in August is the first Monday in August not the last, perhaps it is not school holidays in Dunfanaghy. Anyone know?

There are ALOT of holiday rentals in Donegal; perhaps business hasn't been good and the owner is trying to attract advance bookings?

I could understand her offering discount at 'off-peak' times, but not in school holidays. Bus, as fuchsia girl mentioned, perhaps it s not school holidays there. Perhaps the midgies are particularly bad then!
