I have just booked flights to Haugesund in late April as they were going cheap. I'm staying for 6 days. Now I need to figure out what I am going to do once I get there, having never been to Norway before.
I've looked at the http://www.visithaugesund.no/en/ site and the Haugesund section of the Visit Norway website, but they seem to be focussed on Summer.
Is it worth staying in Haugesund, or am I better off heading elsewhere? I saw the island of Røvær and Ryvarden lighthouse mentioned.
I am keen on hiking and outdoor activities generally but am a bit wary of heading out alone in an unfamiliar climate. However the guided walks don't seem to start till June - is there anywhere you can hook up with walks or other activities in April?
Also, I assume its going to be quite cold, but I was wondering whether it tends to be wet.
I am travelling solo and on a budget.
Any advice is welcome!
