Washington tyne and wear - recommend somewhere to eat?

Hi - my husband is working for one week in Washington tyne and wear. (staying in the Hi-Ex).

Can anyone recommend some reasonable /good eating places?

Cheers,

Fiume's Italian down at Fatfield by the river is ok - Blacksmiths Table in Wshington Village is good for a more traditional restaurant experience - both are near a fair selection of pubs in 2 of the more scenic locations in the town too

There is a Campanile Hotel with their usual French-Style food and music, much to my taste. This is next to a hotel which used to be a Post House and I guess is now a Holiday Inn.

You could try Eslington Villas in Gateshead as it's not far. I also agree with suggestions of previous posts.
