Stores in Cap d'Ail

Hello!

I'll be staying in Cap d'Ail for vacation August 2nd to August 9th at Résidence Le Parc just above train station. In preparation, I "strolled" through Google street view and noticed SPAR and Banette boulangerie in main street above. However, doing store search on both websites does not come up with any stores for SPAR nor for Banette. Is there SPAR and Banette in Cap d'Ail, or was it replaced with other brand? Or closed down altogether? Any other boulangeries/stores close by?

Thank you,

Marija

Rather than falling hostage to an expensive local convenience store I would walk the short distance to the Fontveille Centre Commercial in Monaco where there is a big Carrefour supermarket.

Or one stop on the train and then a lift down to the shopping centre.

Hi there,

I don't know Cap d'Ail that well, but as far as I am aware a couple of bakeries and at least a couple of small grocers including the ones you mention are still in existence .

Google maps are often out of date.

Spar is part of the Casino group - may have been re-badged as a Petit Casino or something similar.

It is possible that the bakery you saw has changed hands and is no longer a member of the Banette bakers' association, but pretty sure one is open :)

Whatever the names, something will be there , but for larger grocery purchases a bigger store in one of the neighbouring towns will be better value, as suggested

Hope this helps

Thank you for your tips - I'll rely on local shops for "just need a bite to survive". As for Carrefour in Monaco - I'll have to look into that. It is 35 minute walk, so can't carry too many groceries nor can I run over or quick milk/bread type of purchase. But train will work, I can do one bigger trip and be done with it.

Hello,

Spar has been replaced by "Utile" which is part of "Marché U" group. There's also another small supermarket a few doors down called "Proxi" which belongs to Carrefour.

The bakery is still there under another name.

List of bakeries in the area:

Thank you for the check, I can now validate working hours of the store. I'm arriving late on Saturday, one of the stores might be open for me to buy milk, bread... Just to tie me over until breakfast.

Hi!

Can someone please tell me what stores are in close proximity to Cap D'Ail, as in within 10 mins walking distance? Is there a post office? A gym? any other stores? We are going to Cap D'Ail for 3 months in 2018 with our toddler.

Many thanks,

There are only 2 small c-stores in Cap d'Ail . There is a gym...called "World Class" . The nearest generous shopping "experience " is the big shopping centre at Fontveille in nearby Monaco...everything you could need. Maybe 20 mins walk or bus or train. Also a big Carrefour supermarket at Beausoleil just across the border from Monaco.

You should get details/map/ opening hours if you google " stores near Cap d'Ail.
