If you are referring to the Radisson at Golden Bay, I have attended a wedding there. Maltese weddings are grand affairs and host 300 to 400 people.

the radisson has a banquet Hall and an adjoining corridor with a large terrace overlooking the Golden sands bay. The wedding that i attended had both the hall and the terrace occupied and available for the guests .

The panoramic views from the Radisson cannot be matched by any hotel in Malta. the only drawback , to be honest , is that the hotel is a bit far ? away from sliema and st Julians for clubbing . suggest that you hire a car , and a 15 minute ride will get you everywhere.

If your reception is not going to be so grand, you could use the poolside area which has the same panoramic views .

Be aware that there are two Radisson hotels in Malta, one is the Golden Sands one that 643 is referring to and the other one is in St Julian's. Both have views overlooking the sea and if you are referring to the St Julian's one they also do lots of weddings.

In my opinion either one would be a good venue but maybe others who have been to weddings there could advise you better

Hi Twirl

Nevy is also referring to the Golden Sands Radisson , because it has been renamed Radisson BLU as against Radisson Bay Point , which is the one in St Julians which is also recommendable and very central. It also has seaviews from the restaurant and pools.

Visit the radisson sites for good photos of these locations.

If you contact the Radisson they could help you decide. Thinking again , you could just have a reception on the terrace next to the Hall once you enter from the wide corridor. They usually lay some tables and large umbrellas , with burning lanterns and candles to provide a romantic atmosphere.

Actually raddisson Blu is the name associated with all Raddisson resort hotels, including the one in St Julians, so therefore Nevy could mean either hotel. If you check the hotels listing you will see that there is a Raddisson Blu Resort, Malta, St Julians and also the one at Golden Sands.

Yes the Blu name applies to both

Here are the links

The Radisson Baypoint ….St Julians

www.radisson.com.mt/page.asp…

The Radisson Golden Sands …Golden Sands Bay

Also they will try to sell you timeshare in another name !

Can I suggest , you check the Xara Palace in Mdina ....my kind of romantic place ...reminds me of my youthful walkabouts in the narrow streets of Mdina . They have a rooftop restaurant with a view of Malta ..at night ..it is something else !

I suggest that first of all put 'weddings' and 'getting married' in the search box on top.

I also suggest you have a look at www.supercities.com

and www.heartofmalta.com as they have video clips of many hotels.

Most of the hotels have specialised staff to help in weddings.

thanks guys for all your info.. my blunder, yes, i had acutally meant the radisson blue in st juliens, wasn't away that that was the name associated also the the golden sands:) i have contacted the radisson now, so hopefully will be able to finalise a date soon and so forth.. just wanted to find out if anyone else had had their wedding there, and if the reviews had been good? so far, from what i've seen they are, just didn't want to have too much of an expensive wedding!!!
