our next Holiday Malta

Hi there

we visited Malta some years back and stayed in a little Hotel in Sllma The Plaza hotel was ideally situated on the prom in Slima which we loved and we used walk into the shopping area of Slima

and bus to Valetta .. But the Hotel was not great accommodation wise .In the evenings we walked to a little bay with boats and some surrounding restaurants .Was it Spinola Bay? it also looked lovely . We are both early seventies but quite active still. I would appreciate any help or advice on a nice hotel on the waterfront of Slima or in Spinola Bay. or valetta that would suit us we love to stroll around look at the sights and buildings and sit on the prom and have a coffee or snack.. We hope to travel mid September

Hopefully somebody will reply and thank you

Have a look on Booking.com you will find several hotels in Sliema and St.Julians or you might like an apartment some place like Pebbles in Sliema.

If you pick out a few come back on for reviews on the hotels you pick the box on the top right if you type in the name you will get them.

I like the Park Hotel in Sliema it is just off the promenade not far from the Plaza they have music and dancing Dean Martin style not Guns n Roses nice breakfast and a short walk to the ferryport and some nice restaurants.

Have a look at this webcam .

It shows live pictures of Spinola Bay .

The tallest building on the right hand side of the picture is the Juliani Hotel , It is a very good popular hotel with great views over the bay.

Next door --- the building with pillars and a white flagpole on the roof is the St Julians band club . Great place for a cheap tea / coffee or beer.

The whole area is full of good restaurants and bars,

There is a even a cheap and cheerfull café --- Dick`s Bar ---- excellent burgers.

Have a look at the webcam ( look during the day when it`s sunny ) Sure it would usefull.

Budget is key - are you thinking mid-range rather than high end? Are you looking for half board or just B&B? Some guidance would be good as you may end up with recommendations simply for expensive 5 star options............................

Another vote for the Juliani if you want views of pretty Spinola Bay. However make sure you request a sea view room since the rooms at the back don't have much of a view, albeit you can always admire the views from the lovely rooftop terrace and pool.
