Carillon Beach is basically the western end of Panama City Beach. This area has few high rise condos, and is an older section of Panama City Beach without much recent condo development.

Restaurants - Bayou Bill's is close and we have always had great seafood there. The Donut Hole is about 1 mile back to the west, and has fantastic breakfasts and outstanding homemade donuts - this is their 3rd location, the original is in Destin. Salty Sue's has good seafood and is about 2 miles to the east. Pier Park is about 8 miles to the east and has a lot of shopping, dining, and a few bars-Tootsies Orchid Lounge is a lot of fun with live music. Lots of shopping, dining, and a water park in PCB. Hope that helps.

I would characterize Carillon more as Easter 30a than Western PCB. We stayed in Carillon last summer for the first time and have a house reserved again next month...we loved it! In the past we have always stayed directly off 30a and avoided PCB or Destin due to the high rises and subsequent traffic/crowds. Carillon is a nice mix of standalone houses and some condos, all in a gated community. You will find a lot of very good, unique restaurants if you head towards 30a...much better than the tourist trap restaurants or chains you will find in PCB.
