Has anyone spent New Year in Le Touquet, are the restaurants open and is it very lively ?
If you mean New Year's Eve then some restauarants are open but you will almost certainly need to book a table and any special 'New Years Eve meal' wil be more expensive than normal.
Very lively - probably not.
Most French people seem to celebrate at home with friends and relatives.
Having said that we have spent a couple of NYE's in Le Touquet and had an enjoyable meal and a good time.
Last year we were in a central restaurant with what appeared to be a party for the Le Touquet 'Bouncers' (they were big lads and lasses!) and loud singing by them all was part and parcel of a great evening.
Thanks for the reply, don't know if we have left it too late
