Inappropriate member?

Ive notice inappropriate posts, all the same, all posed today, some have been removed. This guy is not using the site for its travel information but to advertise very inappropriate material. I hope he will be banned from Trip Advisor. I have tried t look for the correct place to report a person rather than a topic but I cant find one. Anyway this person is www.tripadvisor.co.uk/members/43MarkG43

Please TA, look in to this mans membership and account and act accordingly!

TA will not see this posted here at all. Here's the contact page,

www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ContactUs…

Change the subject box to something like "Advertising", put the link to his profile in the url box, then say what you have here.

In the meantime anyone can report his posts & they will get removed if there are enough hits, but by letting TA know they will ban/block his membership & remove any remaining posts.

I have no idea what they were about as they have now all gone, but report him anyway before he starts again!

Thanks, have done so now.

This man had posted on 30+ forums this morning, the same post advertising porn! Yes, all post have been deleted now I hope TA delete this man too!

Just a note to other TA members to keep an eye out for any other similar posts and report asap. The guys name is Mark G but he could always have or set up other account.

I have just reported a chap on the air travel forum. He has about 80 odd inappropriate posts on there and elsewhere.

We do seem to be getting a lot of this just recently and I feel that the time taken to get rid of them is not helping matters at all.

I appreciate that TA has to investigate before removing but the posters may feel that ANY exposure, no matter how fleeting, is worth it. :O(

Maybe it is time for a 'hotline' specifically for this type of poster so that they can be removed faster..

I've never come across anything like those in all my years (8) on TA! Some people will infiltrate anything these days to get their rubbish out there and advertised! I clicked on early this morning and was taken aback at the two identical post on the 'Lambis' and 'Lindos with two teenage girls thread'. Then I checked all his posts, all posted withing a few minutes all exactly the same posted on a wide range of forums and topics.

So sad that idiots like that can get away with trying to spoil/disrupt a site like TA and no doubt others too! Sad thing is if he's banned he'll probably pop up again with a new account again and again.

Babs, there are mass spam posts like this regularly, fake passports, Ugg boots, all sorts! Obviously they haven't chosen the Lindos forum very often otherwise you would certainly be familiar with them :)

Many tend to start with the USA forums, or Asian, so they are often reported & got rid of before they reach Europe. A real pain & I don't see it stopping any time soon unfortunately.

Babs, I will send you a pm about an alternative option. too.

I dont think its too easy to set up more than one account.

TA trace accounts back to ISP & block attempts to have more than one account

I think they're bots rather than people. A football forum I help to administer was plagued with them some time ago.

Rather more funny was the financial adviser I deal with at work. He managed to pick up a virus on his email account that sent an ad for viagra to every single person he'd ever emailed in the past. He knows some very influential people........

probably caused by the 'P' word being used recently..Danny did ask ;) Perhaps you need to change the title of this thread Babs that 'M' word could look a bit iffy too :D
