Holiday in June - when tn book to get a good deal?

Hi. Looking to go again next June, just for a week, stopping in the village. When would you recommend as the best time to book to get a good deal? Looking pretty costly at the mo :-(

If you know you want to go then book it now. We went in june and booked within a couple of days after returning home. You get the choice of the best accommadation and flight times and if you buy a package you only pay a small deposit each. Then balance about eight weeks before you travel.

Can't make the booking yet unfortunately - have to wait for work leave agreement to be reached, but don't think I would book it just yet as package prices are a bit pricey at the mo. Was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this and from experience could recommend when might be best to get a reasonable deal?

If you're looking for a package then It's all down to demand, so there's no set time when prices are good. Just check regularly and when your dates and suitable prices match, get booked.

If you're going down the independent route, flight prices are generally better the earlier you book.

It depends on how flexible you can be! Unfortunately Lindos regulars are usually vying with the Wedding brigade to secure the best deal as soon as possible. Weddings are often planned more than a year in advance so it stands to reason people want to secure their place. It's as always a matter of supply and demand so the best places get booked sooner rather than later and discounts come with a price...ie. flight changes if booked early with a package company or higher flight charges as the cheaper seats get booked up via Easyjet etc when going the independent route. If you're happy to take a risk and go last minute and take a cancellation you can get a really good deal but don't forget to factor in any extras like aircon if you're going at a time you will need it.

It all depends on what your requirements are, if its a particular property or date etc then the sooner you can book the better, the fewer places that become available the more the price goes up. Booked for next Oct in June and got a great price, and that's a package holiday. And booking early you can get low deposit deals which is always good.

Hey

I know Blackpool/Manchester airports are closest to you, however EJ are offering some great prices at the moment from Liverpool, not a million miles away, on a Sat/Wed. I think RA may have released flights as well from Lpool on a Mon/Thurs. As Marcus says, if you go independent, go early imo. To be honest, Olympic Holidays aside, cheap package deals to Lindos are few and far between these days and given OH demise in terms of carrier reliability n quality of accommodation, the independent option is a serious consideration. Exclusively Lindos offer some quality accommodation in the village

My advice is to keep checking and when a place/price pops up that suits you, go for it. Don't think about it, just press then buttons, or you will miss it.

It is becoming increasingly hard to get a good deal in the village due to tour op's wanting to take the easy option and book out these large soulless, AI hotels in then back of beyond
