We have never been to Portugal, but are fancying a 5 night break last week in October. Can anybody tell me what kind of weather to expect ?
In October the weather usually is still warm, during the day it could be between 20 -25 C. After sunset it cools down and feels more damp. At night a jacket is necessary. Sometimes there's a little wind and there could be some clouds.
We have been the last couple of years in the last week of October/beginning of November and last year we weren't as lucky with the weather as there was quite a bit of rain but the year before we had a week of wall to wall sunshine. We are off again for 5 nights this year on 26th October and you will need a jacket for the cooler evenings but it is still a great place to visit even if the weather isn't favourable. I am sure you will have a lovely time.
Thanks Rachel. Any hotels you could recommend?
There are lots of good hotels in Vilamoura, if you look down the left hand side of this page there are many reviews.
I cannot comment specifically on any as I use a private rental.
Hi Scout58 we are staying at As Cascatas Golf & Spa resort this year in Vilamoura. We haven't stayed here before but like the flexibility of an apartment with the facilities of a hotel and it has generally good reviews on this site. We got a good deal through Hotels.com for the accommodation. We have previously stayed in Alvor and Olhos D'Agua so it depends where you are thinking of heading?
I go out nxt thursday and the forcast is for rain the first few days :-(
