Vila Sol Village

Hi there, we are considering booking an apartment at the Vila Sol village in August this year. Just wondered what everyones thoughts were on this place. We will be hiring a car so we dont need to worry about the distance to the marina / beaches etc. Keen to know what the pool area is like, from the pictures it doesnt look like there are many sun loungers.

Any help, tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi I stayed there in July about 5 years ago and would confirm the sun loungers were few and far between then. Had to be around the pool area fairly early to secure the loungers.

Didn't spoil the overall enjoyment of the holiday though.

I believe the supermarket at the entrance to Vila Sol is now closed, so your nearest one would be Pingo Doce down the road in Quateira.

Supermarket is closed indeed, but Pingo Doce (nearest) is very close by.

If you have a rental car you'll be fine. There's shortage of taxis in August. Last year there were quite some comments on Vila Sol, here's a useful one:

Vila Sol Village is completely the other end of Vila Sol to La Palmyra so there are many more amenities within walking distance such as Deli France, Oscars bar, Oscar's take away and the beautiful A Paisagem Restaurant at the entrance to the resort. Pingu Doce is 2 minutes in the car from Vila Sol Village. The Village apartments are set around private gardens housing 3 adult pools, 2 kids pools and a Jacuzzi. In the Summer months there is a snack bar selling ice creams, coffees, beers wine and lunches in the central pool area. Last year new loungers were purchased so there should be plenty but inevitably this gets busy in summer. The hotel is a 10 minute walk away where you can lunch at the Clubhouse or go in for their buffet breakfast. Driving would take you 2 minutes ! Tennis Courts are to hire and as well as the golf course, there is also a driving range.
