We were driving from Ronda to Jerez and thought we would have a stop at Arcos en route. We had driven through the Pueblos Blancos, stopping at Grazelema and Zahara de la Sierra for coffee and lunch, a fabulous exciting scenic drive. The drive up through Arcos was possibly even more exciting, we were booked into the Parador and had to go right up to the top... which we managed, but then had a scrape parking the car. This was the first time we have had to make a claim with Insurance4carhire.com and it worked perfectly, definitely recommended to protect your excess! The Parador was fabulous, Arabian type courtyard, beautiful terrace for a sundowner looking out to goodness knows where, lots of wind turbines in the distance with twinkly lights on somewhere. Our room was huge and luxurious overlooking the square.
We headed out to explore, as it was a Sunday it was possibly quieter than usual? Found a few places to look at that were open and bought some ceramics.
In the evening, after our sundowner, or two, found ourselves at Don Fernando for a delicious tapas dinner, highly recommended.
Sleep quality was not great because of church bells ringing every quarter during the night, however we explored the church opposite the hotel in the morning and had another look round the town before driving (carefully) out of town and to Jerez for the following week's stay.
