F1 Spa Francorchamps, where to stay?

We are planning on going to the 2011 race the end of August. We are wondering where other people have stayed (hotels and cities) and what kind of transportation they have used. Train, bus, rental car, walk? Thank you for your assistance

Francorchamps is a remote place (no railway station). Durbuy (very nice little town), Spa (nice thermal town), Malmedy, Stavelot or Liege (farther) are the closest cities to Francorchamp. Leuven is a nice city also but it is about 2 hours from Francorchamps. The best is to rent a car . If you are looking to go by bus, check the local bus line called TEC buses ( www.infotec.be).

They have lots of campgrounds around there but as you know probably, rain is always invited at the Belgian race.

You could find out from previous questions/answers in this forum, but you might want to stay in Verviers to take advantage of the bus from Verviers station to the race track. However, be warned that several people have had trouble getting away from the track after the event (also when travelling by car).
