Esmeraldas self-catering

We're going self-catering at the Esmealdas. I notice from reviews on here that the towels are changed regularly, so we don't need to worry about them. But what else is provided?

Are there, for example: tea towels; soap and toiletries; hairdryer; iron; a grill? Or am I expecting too much for the price? :)

Any nasty surprises? Any nice surprises?

We stayed in a self catering room in the Esmeraldas in August, the kitchen area is small but well equipped with plenty of cutlery - can't remember there being a tin opener but we took our own - and pans etc., as well as dishes/cups, a coffee maker and kettle though the kettle is one with a whistle that you leave on the hob rather than an electric one, and microwave that is stowed away in the cupboard under the telly - took us some time to locate it.

They do change towels every day but bed linen is only changed once a week, there is a soap dispenser in the bathroom but ours didn't work, in any case we took soap with us, but there is no shampoo or conditioner etc.

Have to add that there is a good sized fridge in the kitchen area but the freezer section in ours was too iced up to close the door and the fridge door didn't close very well either, could just have been our fridge that was like this because family members in the room next door had a better fridge.

If you are going out of season the pool area should be fine but it was far too crowded when we went in August, a nice if rather small pool which as I said should be okay when the kids are back at school and not dive bombing other users.

Good for the price.

Thanks, both. That's all useful to know. I'm looking forward to our few days, but it's as well to be prepared, too.

Ah, just remembered, the rooms have toasters, a real boon when it comes to breakfast.
