Usually reasonable beach huts relaxing not too noisy ( so avoiding baga)

Quite like mandrem & anjuna but not stayed there

What I would do is get your taxi (or scooter) to turn off left just before you get to Arambol. Look for the signs for Ivon's guesthouse or God's Gift Guesthouse. Plenty of options here, either at the places set back from the sands or walk through the palms on to the beach and choose a nice shack with huts. we stayed at Sunset Shack a couple of years back, it was basic but friendly and good food. nice walk up the beach quarter of an hour or so to the 'main street' in Arambol central! I would avoid the centre of the village, noisier and not as nice accommodation. From the south of the village you can explore down to Mandrem as well.

Tharobsterr's blog is a great read too!

Best place to stay in Arambole is The Samata. Best place to eat is the Samata.

It is a retreat resort but you may ask as you may find an empty room.

Google Samata Goa for more info.
