Secondary check at immigration

Well this was a first for us. We've been to Cuba close to 40 times and this is the first time we have been pulled aside at immigration due to our Canadian passports indicating we were born in Britain. Anyone else have this issue? They never did explain why, just made a few notes on a scrap piece of paper and then let us through.

You finally hit the 1/10,000 pull over into Secondary for a meaningless bit of paperwork, no big deal.

Quick, run out and buy a lottery ticket! Maybe you're on a roll! ;-)

People who work at the secondary inspection desk, either in Cuba or probably at any customs counter in any country have to justify their existance, so if no one seems suspicious, then they'll just pick anyone at random.

Agree entirely. It's a complete non-issue. Much, much worse happens to innocent travellers at international borders countless times every day...

I love entering Mexico.

If you get past the luggage scan ... you get to push the button.

Green light you go free ... red you go to secondary inspection.

Very game show like.

Nothing to do with being born in the UK, mine also says that. About 4 years ago we were also "picked" first and only time. Held the bus up for an hour, while they inspected everything, and I mean everything. Just have to go with the flow, no big deal if you have nothing to hide.

Yea quite funny really, it was New Years, and we had quite a few "toys" they had a lot of fun playing with the noisemakers etc LOL, The people on the bus were less than impressed, hey not our fault :)
