Book A la carte or go buffet?

Has anyone been to the À la carte restaurants at Club Amigo Caracol (Hotel Caracol)?

Restaurant (Sea fruits)

El Velero (Cuban):

Just wondering if its worth booking them or sticking to the Buffet?

Also, has anyone tried the Dine Around Option at Mayanabo & Brisas? Is it worth going over there to do those?

Yes...Mayanabo has a newer international chef and the food is good. The menu at Mayanabo is now on a 14 day rotation....so why not give it a try !!! Have fun.

Definitely book the a la carte dinners at the Caracol. Good food and service but you should enjoy the expereince if nothing else. The buffet is always hit and miss but you can still go there after the a la carte if you need to :-)

The Mayanabo buffet food isn't bad at all - much improved over the past year. There is a good variety - maybe not the spices you expect or are used to, but go with an open mind. You are bound to find something to eat - if all else fails, go to the pasta station. I haven't been at the A La Carte's at Caracol, so can't speak to those.
