ERC- does it feel crowded?

Hi! We leave for ERC in a little over 2 weeks. I was checking availability for the resort online so I could see if it was sold out. There were some rooms available but not many. I assume they will be close to full capacity. Has anyone benn there when it was full and how we're restaurant wait times and were there lounge chairs available? Thanks!

We were there last week and it was 90% full. We had no problems at the pool getting lounge chairs or waiting long to get dinner.

You also need to remember that just because a room is not available for specific length of your stay, doesn't mean it's booked the entire length. For example: if you booked 10 days, several room types might be booked 1, 2 or 5 days of that 10 day period, but might be empty for a significant portion. Most of the resorts seem to fill up more during the weekends, too.

When will you be there? We're there Nov 8-18.

In addition to what Harold said, some of the rooms aren't available because they're closed for maintenance.

ERC never feels crowded. You may have problems finding lounge chairs in certain areas, but there are plenty of areas to choose from.

Wait times for dinner are longer if you go at peak time (7:30 - 8:00). Go at 6:00 - 6:30 and you'll likely never wait more than 5 minutes. Even if there is a wait, they'll give you a beeper and you can go and have a margarita.

We just got back from ERC (10/19-10/25). When we checked in, we were told to expect an 85% occupancy rate, which they said is high for late October. It felt busier to us early in our stay - Friday and Saturday. It seemed quieter the rest of the week. The main pool/swim up bar area was always busy, but there was always a chair to be found on the beach at any time of day. The martini bar can be packed at times, but we still always got great service. As far as dining goes, usually one restaurant would be closed each night, but there were a couple of nights that they were all open. One night, two were closed, but that was due to the Mexican Buffet that night. The only night we waited for a table was at Chez Isabelle (waited an hour). The other nights we were seated right away, even at Basmati (which was fantastic, by the way). Service was spectacular across the board - they seemed properly staffed for the week. Drink service was quicker at the main pool than on the beach, but that is not to detract from how hard those guys work on the beach - they just have a lot of ground to cover. Service at the restaurants was very efficient too, for the most part. You will love this place!
