Superama is owned by Walmart and is a downsized version. Emphasis on food products and not clothes, appliances, etc. All you fruit and veggie needs can be covered in the colonia however you will probably be happpier doing your meat shopping at Superama, plus there will be many more choices there.

You could taxi it over to the Colonia on the other side of the highway from town. There are more grocery options and variety there including lovely fresh produce, big bottles of fresh grapefruit and orange juice, yum and butchers with porc and chickens.

It is also fun to jump on a collectivo for a few peso and ride over, and if you time it right it runs almost like a school bus, picking up and dropping kids. Stay on for a while and you see a lot of the town. Walk and shop and catch another back. They run through pretty often.

We stopped at Superama last year on the way from the airport...our wives stayed in the van and we went into the store with a list and managed it all pretty well...it's not as big as Walmart but it just means you don't have to venture out and waste valuable sun, sea and sand time traipsing round Walmart on your first day in PM...also the first drink on arrival at the condo was extra special...we also bought a few bits and pieces at Casa Martin to top up dwindling supplies of drink, coffee and milk.

Enjoy yourselves!!

yes Cantina Habanero will be having their annual Super Bowl party. There will 3-4 Big TV's. They will have USA Satellite so you will get the commercials as well as English. Come early as the place fills up long before game time. They also have their Cantina Habanero Superbowl t-shirts available.
