Live Blog From Now Jade

T-Minus two days and we land at Now Jade. 2 Adults, 3 boys, can't wait. Assuming we grab some wifi that is. :-) Watch this spot.

So day 1 went well. Got to the resort. Warm welcome, they informed us our rooms were ready but we found they were not interconnecting so they quickly picked another set of rooms for us. We have the basic room package so we didn't expect much so we were very surprised by the room quality. Especially the washrooms.

The resort is laid out a little odd. But it sperates those of us with kids from the small adults only area well. So far the staff have been polite but not pushy which we like. My wife said it best when she said you jai hitting dead ends if you don't want to get your great in the sand.

The beach was very wavey. Fun but not great for a 4 year old. The beach south is awesome as far as we can see. We will walk later.

The gardens are wild by design which is a requirement from the government we hear. It creates nice paths but not pretty in the classic manicured sense.

We were told there wouldn't be many kids.... Well that's wrong this week. Lots are here which is good for us.

So at first impression we are rather happy. It isn't smb with kids but it's right down the line what we expected.

Free WiFi is coming thankfully. Paid is expensive and sketchy

More later. Can answer specific questions if anyone has any.

Are you on preferred side? I noticed you mentioned you had free wifi and thought that was only available on preferred

How was the drive into the hotel, is the road really bad? Ok without car seats? We're you pressured to attend a timeshare? Is it hard to find loungers in the shade? Looking forward to hearing all about your trip!

So not on the preferred side. WiFi is free for all in 2014 so says the staff. We are paying through the nose for WiFi. Its very spotty and not in room so ib won't be updating as much.

Dinner buffet was unimpressive bit did the job. Breakfast buffet was rather good but I am partial to on demand omelets.

Happy with kids club options so far.

Road to here was fine (mexico normal). We had a mini bus or 14 person van. No concerns there.

Time share pressure was there. Annoying but a simple no worked the 3rd time. Rule of thumb is don't sit down. Loungers are plentiful but it rained briefly this am so hard to say in general

hi again

One more question please. Do you have a current email address for front desk, management etc. for Now Jade. The one I got from their web site doesn't appear to be working as I have sent several email to no avail. Thanks

We don't go anywhere without water shoes though we're did walk south for a bit without them on. Likely not the best to ask.

Sadly we don't have an email address for the resort.
