Hiking boots?

We plan to drive Big Sur and stop in Julia Pfeiffer Burns Park and walk to the McWay waterfall. I usually walk in a Teva flip flops because they are most comfortable for my feet. Do I need hiking boots for this part of our trip? Would rather not have to pack them.

The McWay Falls trail doesn't require hiking boots. It's a very short walk from the parking lot to an overlook trail. You can not climb down to the waterfall, as there is no trail down to the beach. The fact that there is no human presence on the beach is what makes the scene that much more special. Your flip flops will work just fine.
