Help me identify spice mix?

I bought a spice mix which was sold as garam masala for dhal. On close inspection it appears to be mainly roasted fenugreek, with a few other small bits. It smells lovely, but how do I use it? I hope someone can help.

According to Sandya not relevant what's inside, as long as it smells ok ;-)

Just cook the lentils, and when there is only little water left add a bit of the masala (think of teaspoons not spoons) and stir well for the last minutes of cooking. Add some coconut milk or grated coconut to compensate the spicy (too much for some) dimension of the taste. Stir well again and serve hot...
